The brief project

description:

The project pursues two key objects:

  • conservation of  Rare Books in the National Library, Issyk-Kul Regional Library, and libraries of  the Kyrgyz National Academy of Science and Kyrgyz State National University.
  • providing free access to the national book heritage for wide audience both within Kyrgyzstan and abroad in the Internet.

Four libraries take part in this project:

  • Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences;
  • National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic;
  • Issyk-Kul Regional Library;
  • Scientific Library of  the Kyrgyz State National University.

The project envisages training for staff of the involved libraries,  comprehensive inventory of rare and valuable publications, creation of database of the books, restoration and preservation of books on history and culture of Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia, digitizing and microfilming of selected books, and providing public access to digital and microfilm copies of the books in each of the libraries as well as in the Internet.

description:

The main objective of the project is monitoring the situation on development and realization of the state policy on the following components:

  • implementation of ICT in city, region and rural libraries for the purpose of creation of the public access centers;
  • creation of electronic information resources for the on-line services;
  • training librarians and users in ICT;
  • interaction between public access centers and high schools for the distance learning;
  • interaction between public access centers and other public organizations and mass media with the purpose of information service of the population about the most important public events which influencing social policy and a life of the society in whole.

description:

Key objectives of the project are

  • Free and open access to scientific potential, abstracts of dissertations of scientists of Kyrgyzstan that stimulate the user's initiative and creativity, develop research activity, promote research opportunities and strengthening the science in Kyrgyzstan;
  • Development of new forms of library users' service with simultaneous improvement of librarians' professional skills in the field of electronic resources;
  • Popularization of Kyrgyz scientists' achievements abroad.

The project provides an opportunity of numbering of a part of scientific funds of Libraries of Bishkek and regions of the country, creation of an electronic corporate repository and granting of this database to scientists of Kyrgyzstan and to all international community via Internet, providing equal access opportunities to the scientific information. The brief project

description:

Key objective of the project is maintenance of necessary conditions and the further perfection of the modern information environment, easy access provision for citizens of Kyrgyzstan to the foreign and local periodicals.
Achievement of the tasks is possible by solution of such problems as:

  • Realization of periodicals subscription campaign in Kyrgyzstan for remote rural libraries which are not having access to Internet;
  • Implementation of a subscription to electronic periodicals databases, and library users' possibility to have free access via Internet;
  • Implementation of a complex of information and training actions among library users on work with new kinds of information resources;
  • Expansion of information services spectrum of the rendered by libraries with wide application of resources of electronic full text databases.

The brief project

description:

Key objective of the project is creation and introduction of modern information and bibliographic databases (unit catalogues) and full text resources of Kyrgyzstan, and also information interchange and information interaction with other projects, organizations, and associations for maintenance of a science, education, and public life in Kyrgyzstan. 
The project is targeted for providing bases of creation of interlibrary system, and international information interaction of libraries of Kyrgyzstan as within the framework of satisfaction of users' information needs of Kyrgyzstan, and international information interchange. Successful realization of the project will allow to construct a system which becomes a basis for steady development of the Kyrgyz Libraries Information Consortium with the subsequent self-financing, and opportunities to recept of additional finance for implementation of new directions of its activity and maintenance of its financial stability in the future.

The brief project

description:

The project is one of the important on a way of development of the international project "Electronic information for libraries". Within the framework of this project the great work on a hardware of libraries with the necessary computer equipment for the organization of workplaces for users for their access to global online resources is carried out. According to the project, 16 libraries of Bishkek have received each one computer and have provided to the users an opportunity of access to the world scientific periodicals. Among them:
